Overview
SketchUp gets a model out of your head and onto the screen faster than anything else, which is why it is the first tool in so many architectural and interior workflows and why it is used for stage design, joinery, event layout and a hundred other things it was never specifically built for. The push pull way of working is genuinely intuitive, and the modelling stays editable rather than becoming a mesh you cannot change.
Pro is what makes it usable past the sketch stage. LayOut turns a model into a dimensioned drawing set, the solid tools handle boolean operations properly, and the import and export list covers the formats that a project actually has to exchange. This build is licensed offline, so no subscription check, no sign-in, and no session limit.
Modelling
The core is a small number of tools used in combination: line, arc, push pull, follow me, move and rotate, with groups and components giving structure. Components are the concept to learn first, since an edited component updates everywhere it appears, which is what makes a repeated window or a chair layout maintainable.
Sections cut through the model live and can be exported as drawings, and scenes save camera position, layer visibility and style together, which is how a presentation gets assembled without rebuilding views every time.
LayOut and documentation
LayOut places model viewports on a page at a set scale, dimensions them, and keeps them linked so a model change updates the drawing. Titles, labels, legends and revision text live on the page rather than in the model, which is the right separation.
Output goes to print ready PDF or to the vector and raster formats. The drawings are not as tightly controlled as a dedicated drafting program produces, but for planning submissions and construction sketches on a small project they are entirely adequate.
Extensions and interchange
The extension ecosystem is a large part of the program's real capability, covering rendering, parametric shapes, terrain, quantity takeoff and cleanup. The bridge is fully open in this build, so extensions install and run normally.
Import and export cover the CAD exchange formats, the common mesh formats, the BIM exchange format and the render engine bridges. Enscape and other visualisation tools attach to it directly, which is the usual path to a finished image.

Questions about this release
Is LayOut included?
Yes, along with Style Builder. Those are the Pro components and both are present.
Do extensions work?
Yes, the bridge is untouched and extensions install through the normal manager.
Does it need to sign in?
No. Licensing is applied offline and there is no session limit.
Can it drive a render engine?
Yes, the visualisation bridges attach normally. Enscape is listed separately on this site.
Comments
Extensions all reinstalled without a fight. Enscape attaches fine.
Use it for joinery drawings. Pro solid tools are the reason to have this rather than the free one.
Comments are read before they appear. If a build stops working, say so here and it gets rebuilt rather than quietly left up.
LayOut on a 40 page set is much quicker than the version I was on. Linked views update properly.
