Overview
Screen recorders divide into two camps. One camp is built for streaming and gives you a scene graph, a mixer and an hour of setup. The other is built for recording a thing that happened on your screen and getting a file out of it, and Movavi sits firmly in the second. You draw a rectangle, pick which audio sources go in, hit record, and when you stop you get a clip you can trim and export without opening anything else.
This build is pre-activated, which means the trial watermark never appears, the recording length is not capped at a few minutes and every export format is available. The full effect and annotation set that normally sits behind the paid tier is enabled, including the drawing tools you can use live while recording.
Capturing the screen
Capture area is either a full screen, a chosen window that follows the window if it moves, or a freely drawn region that can be locked to common aspect ratios so the result does not need cropping later. Frame rate goes up to sixty, and the capture path uses hardware encoding where the graphics card supports it, which keeps the recorder itself from becoming the reason the recorded application stutters.
Mouse handling is more thorough than most tools bother with. The cursor can be highlighted with a coloured ring, clicks can be shown as an expanding circle with an optional click sound, and keystrokes can be drawn on screen as they are pressed, which is the single most useful feature when recording anything instructional.
Audio, webcam and annotation
System audio and microphone are captured to separate tracks, so a badly balanced voiceover can be fixed afterwards without redoing the recording. Input levels are shown live before recording starts, and there is a noise reduction pass that can be applied on export rather than baked into the capture.
A webcam overlay can be placed in any corner at a size you choose, with an optional rounded frame, and it records to its own track as well, so it can be repositioned or removed later. During recording the drawing tools put arrows, boxes, freehand lines and text on screen, either as permanent marks or as marks that fade after a few seconds.
Trimming and export
When recording stops, the clip opens in a simple trim view. Cut the dead air at the start and end, remove a section in the middle, split into several files, and that is deliberately the whole editing feature set. Anything more involved is a job for a real timeline, and the tool exports in a format that a timeline will read without transcoding.
Export presets cover the usual delivery targets, plus straight file output at a chosen resolution, frame rate and bitrate. Scheduled recording is available for capturing something that happens at a known time without sitting at the machine, with a stop condition on either duration or file size.

Installing it
- Unpack the archive to a local folder.
- Turn off real time protection for the length of the install.
- Run setup and let it finish without launching the program at the end.
- Apply the activation step described in the notes before the first launch.
- Open the recorder and make a ten second test clip. The export should carry no watermark.

Questions about this release
Is there a recording time limit?
No. The trial cap is removed in this build, so a recording runs until you stop it or the disk fills.
Does the export carry a watermark?
No. Check with a short test clip after install if you want to be certain before recording anything long.
Can it record a game?
It records what the screen shows, including most games in borderless window mode. Exclusive full screen sometimes captures black, in which case switch the game to borderless.
Why is my microphone quiet in the file?
The tracks are separate by design. Raise the microphone track on export rather than shouting into it during the recording.

Region lock to sixteen by nine means I stopped cropping everything afterwards.
Simpler than the streaming tools and that is the point. Record, trim, done.
Comments are read before they appear. If a build stops working, say so here and it gets rebuilt rather than quietly left up.
