Overview
Advanced SystemCare Ultimate is the tuning suite with a real antivirus engine bolted on, which is what separates the Ultimate edition from the ordinary one. The scan covers junk files, registry problems, privacy traces, start-up load, shortcut errors, network settings and security holes in one pass, then presents everything it found as a list you can act on selectively rather than as a single fix everything button.
The reason to run something like this is not the mythical speed increase, it is that the individual jobs are tedious and easy to forget. Clearing caches, trimming the start-up list, checking that the firewall and update settings have not been altered, removing browser extensions that arrived with something else. This build has the Pro and Ultimate features unlocked, the upsell panels removed and the browser toolbar component stripped from the installer.
The antivirus side
The bundled engine does real time file and behaviour monitoring, scheduled and on demand scanning, and quarantine with restoration. It is a competent second line rather than a replacement for a heavyweight product, and it is honest about coexisting: if another security product is registered as the system provider, the real time component can be turned off and the on demand scanner kept.
Web protection blocks known bad addresses at the browser level, watches for browser setting changes that arrive with bundled software, and clears the tracking cookies on a schedule. The homepage and search engine lock is the part that saves the most support calls on a family machine, since it stops the setting being changed by anything other than you.
Cleaning, tuning and repair
The clean pass covers temporary files, update caches, log files, crash dumps and the leftovers of uninstalled software, with sizes reported per category. Registry cleaning and defragmentation are included with a restore point taken first. Disk optimisation handles both mechanical drives and solid state ones correctly, which not every tool in this category does.
Start-up management shows what runs at login with a measured cost per entry and offers delay as well as disable. The repair section fixes the things that break in ordinary use: broken shortcuts, damaged file associations, network settings left behind by a removed application, and the system settings that some software alters without asking. There is a hardware monitor with temperatures and fan speeds for spotting a machine that is throttling rather than being slow.
Living with it
The suite installs several components and by default it enables all of them, which is more than most machines need. The sensible setup is to keep the antivirus and the manual clean, and turn off the automatic optimisation, the performance monitor bar that floats on the desktop and the notification prompts. All three are switchable in settings and none of them are needed for the scan to work.
With those off, memory use is modest and the suite is effectively idle until you open it. The scheduled scan can be set to run weekly at a time the machine is on, and the report is waiting the next time you look. That is the way this software is worth having installed rather than the way it ships.

Installing it
- Unpack and run the installer as administrator.
- Decline the browser extension offer if it appears. The core protection does not need it.
- After the first launch, open settings and turn off automatic optimisation and the floating performance bar.
- If you already run a main antivirus, disable the real time component and keep the on demand scanner.
- No key is requested. The Ultimate features are already enabled.

Questions about this release
Can it run beside another antivirus?
Yes, with the real time component turned off. The on demand scanner and everything else continues to work.
Does it really speed up a machine?
It removes junk, trims start-up load and finds throttling. Whether that is noticeable depends entirely on what was wrong. It is maintenance, not magic.
Is the browser extension required?
No. Decline it during setup and the address blocking still works at the system level.
How do I stop the notifications?
Turn off automatic optimisation, the performance bar and the notification prompts in settings. All three are separate switches.

Hardware monitor showed the laptop was throttling at 95 degrees. That was the actual problem, not the software.
Running the scanner on demand next to Defender, no conflicts at all.

Turned off everything the notes say to turn off and it is a decent maintenance tool. No nag panels in this build.
