Overview
CorelDRAW has a stubbornly loyal following in sign making, garment printing, engraving and packaging, and the reason is practical rather than sentimental: it handles multi page documents, cutting paths, spot colour and direct output to plotters and cutters better than the alternatives, and the workflow around those tasks has been refined for decades. If your work ends on a vinyl cutter or a screen, this is often the shortest path to it.
The suite is more than the vector application. PHOTO-PAINT covers raster editing, PowerTRACE converts scanned artwork to vectors, Font Manager handles a large collection without installing everything into the system, and Capture handles screen grabs. This build is the perpetual version with licensing handled, so there is no subscription check, no sign-in and no trial countdown.
Vector drawing and production
The drawing tools cover the usual bezier and shape work, with the additions that production work needs: multi page documents that behave like a real layout program, object level control over overprint and trapping, and colour styles that update every object using them at once.
For output, cutting and plotting paths are handled as first class objects rather than a plug-in afterthought, and the export dialog knows the formats that cutters and engravers expect. Colour separation preview shows exactly what each plate will carry before anything is sent.
PHOTO-PAINT and tracing
PHOTO-PAINT is a competent raster editor with layers, masks, adjustment stacks and a brush engine that supports pressure. It is not Photoshop, but for the retouching and mockup work that sits alongside a vector job it removes the need to leave the suite.
PowerTRACE remains the strongest automatic vectoriser in a mainstream package. A scanned logo comes back as clean curves with the colour count controlled, and the result is usually close enough that only a few nodes need touching by hand.
Files and compatibility
The suite imports and exports the formats that come up in a mixed shop, including the Adobe vector and layered raster formats, the exchange formats for CAD and cutting, and the print ready PDF intents. Layer structure survives most of these round trips, which is not something to take for granted.
Font Manager is worth learning early. It lets a collection of several thousand faces sit outside the system font folder and be activated per project, which keeps every other program on the machine from crawling on startup.

Questions about this release
Is this the subscription version?
No. It is the perpetual build with the subscription check removed, so it does not expire and does not need an account.
Does it open Adobe vector files?
Yes, and it writes them back out. Complex effects sometimes flatten on the round trip, which is normal between the two.
Is PHOTO-PAINT included?
Yes, along with PowerTRACE, Font Manager and Capture.
Will it drive my vinyl cutter?
The export formats are there. The cutter still needs its own driver installed on the machine.
Comments
No subscription nag, no expiry so far. Multi page handling is still better than the alternatives for what I do.
Font Manager alone fixed my startup times across the whole machine.
Comments are read before they appear. If a build stops working, say so here and it gets rebuilt rather than quietly left up.
Trace on a customer's scanned logo came back nearly perfect. That job used to take me an hour.
