Overview
Illustrator is where anything that has to scale gets drawn. Logos, packaging, signage, technical illustration, type driven layout that will be printed at two metres and at two centimetres from the same file. The 2026 build keeps the whole bezier and shape toolset intact and spends its new work on the parts of the program that were slowest, which is a better trade than another panel nobody opens.
This is the offline installer with the license already applied, so it opens straight into a document rather than a sign-in screen. Fonts installed on the machine are picked up normally, colour books are present, and every export format including PDF and SVG is available with no trial restriction on the output.
Drawing and shape handling
The pen and curvature tools behave the same as they always have, which is the point. What has changed is everything around them. Live shapes now keep their corner radii through a scale, the shape builder handles overlapping strokes without producing stray fragments, and boolean operations on complex paths finish in a fraction of the time they used to on files with tens of thousands of anchor points.
Repeat objects, mirror and rotate along a path have matured into something you can build a real pattern with rather than a preview trick. A radial repeat can now be edited at the source and updates every instance, including instances that have been individually transformed.
Type, colour and print output
The type engine handles OpenType features properly, including alternates, ligature sets and variable font axes exposed as sliders. Text on a path, area type with proper optical margin alignment, and paragraph styles that survive a round trip through InDesign are all present.
For print, the document can be set up in CMYK with a working profile, spot colours are kept as spot through export, and overprint preview shows what will actually happen on press. The PDF export presets cover the standard print intents, and the package command collects linked artwork and fonts into a folder for handoff.
Working with other files
Illustrator opens and writes SVG cleanly enough for web handoff, exports asset sets at multiple scales in one pass, and reads PDF as editable artwork when the source was made from vectors. Placed raster images can be linked or embedded, and the link panel will tell you which are missing before you send a file on.
Round tripping with Photoshop keeps layers where the structure allows it, and smart object placement from an Illustrator file stays live, so a logo update propagates into a mockup without a re export.

Questions about this release
Does it read files from older Illustrator versions?
Yes, back through the legacy formats. Saving down to an older version is also available from the save dialog.
Are the colour books included?
Yes, the standard spot libraries ship with the install and are available from the swatch panel.
Does it work with a pen tablet?
Yes, pressure sensitivity is supported on the brush and blob brush tools with a working tablet driver installed.
Can I use it alongside Photoshop from this site?
Yes. Placed files stay linked between the two and updates propagate normally.
Comments
Spot colours survived export to PDF and the printer took it without a complaint. Good release.
Installed alongside my old copy, both still run. No trial nag on either.
Comments are read before they appear. If a build stops working, say so here and it gets rebuilt rather than quietly left up.
Boolean speed on a big map file is night and day compared to the version I had before.
