Overview
VirtualDJ has been the default answer for laptop DJing for a long time, and the current cycle earned that position again with the real time stem separation that pulls vocals, drums, instruments and bass apart on the fly with nothing prepared in advance. That single feature changed what a live mix can do, since an acapella that used to need a separate file is now a button on the deck.
Pro Infinity is the tier that unlocks everything at once, all controllers, all video features, all effects, unlimited decks and the broadcast path. This build carries that tier applied, so there is no sign-in, no feature greyed out with an upgrade prompt, and no cutoff after a set length. The controller definition library is bundled rather than downloaded, which matters when you are setting up somewhere with no usable connection.
Stems and live mixing
The separation engine runs on the audio as it plays, splitting each deck into four parts with dedicated volume and effect paths per part. In practice that means dropping the vocal out of one track and the drums out of another and letting them run together, which used to require prepared files and now takes two pads. Quality is good enough to hold up on a system, though very dense masters still smear slightly on the vocal part.
Beatgrid detection is automatic and usually correct on anything with a steady tempo. Where it is not, the grid can be nudged and anchored by hand and the correction is saved into the track database so it never has to be done twice. Sync locks decks together with a tempo range you set, and the key detection feeds a harmonic mixing view that flags which tracks in the browser will sit well against what is currently playing.
Controllers and audio routing
The bundled definition library covers a very wide range of hardware, including the older units that vendors dropped support for years ago. Plugging a supported controller in maps it automatically with the correct jog behaviour, pad modes and screen output where the unit has one. Anything unmapped can be assigned pad by pad in the mapper, which also lets you rewrite the default map on a supported unit if you want the pads laid out differently.
Audio routing handles the usual arrangements, master and headphone cue on one interface, split output on a single stereo device, or separate outputs per deck for an external mixer. Timecode vinyl and CD control are supported on the Pro tier, so a turntable setup works without an extra purchase.
Video, recording and broadcast
Video mixing runs on the same decks as audio, with transitions and effects that follow the crossfader. Karaoke files are handled with the lyric track displayed on the output screen. It is a niche use for most people and essential for a few, and the Pro tier is what enables it.
The set can be recorded to a file while it plays, with an optional automatic track list written alongside it. The broadcast path streams the master out to a server directly, which is enough for a live stream without routing through separate capture software.

Installing it
- Unplug any controller before starting the install.
- Turn off real time protection and run the installer as administrator.
- Let setup finish and do not launch the program from the final dialog.
- Apply the licensing step from the archive, then start the program.
- Plug the controller in after first launch so it is detected against the bundled definitions.

Is this the full Pro Infinity tier?
Yes. Every feature that the top tier unlocks is available, including video, karaoke, timecode and broadcast.
Does stem separation need to be prepared in advance?
No, it runs live on the deck. Preparing a track in advance only reduces the load during the set.
Will my controller be detected?
Almost certainly. The bundled definition library covers current hardware and a long list of discontinued units.
Does the set cut off after a while?
No. There is no session length limit and no sign-in prompt.
