Overview
Acrobat Pro is the program that turns a PDF from something you look at into something you can work on. Text and image editing directly in the page, conversion out to editable document and spreadsheet formats, combining and splitting, page level reordering, redaction that actually removes the content rather than drawing a box over it, and form fields that collect and export data. Free readers do none of this, and the free web converters do it badly and with your document on someone else's server.
This build is the complete desktop application with the licensing handled. There is no page cap, no trial watermark on exported files, no seven day countdown, and no requirement to sign in before the editing tools unlock. Everything runs locally, which for a contract or a scan of anything sensitive is the entire point.
Editing and conversion
Text editing reflows within a paragraph and keeps the original font where it is embedded, substituting a close match where it is not. Images can be replaced, cropped or moved in place. For structural changes the export path is better: convert to a document format, restructure there, and come back.
Conversion to and from document, spreadsheet and presentation formats preserves tables and lists far more reliably than it used to, and the scanned document path runs text recognition first so that a photographed page becomes selectable and searchable text rather than a picture of one.
Forms, signatures and review
The form builder detects fields on an existing layout automatically and lets you correct what it guessed, including field types, validation and tab order. Collected responses export to a spreadsheet, which is the part that makes it worth building a form here rather than in a word processor.
Signature workflows cover both drawn and certificate based signing, with a visible audit of what changed after each signature was applied. Comment and markup tools support a shared review cycle where responses can be merged back into one copy.
Redaction, security and optimisation
Redaction is a two step operation by design: mark the content, then apply, which removes the underlying text and image data permanently. Search based redaction will find every instance of a pattern across a long document, which is the only sane way to handle a few hundred pages.
Documents can be optimised down in size by resampling images and dropping unused embedded resources, and protected with a password on opening or on editing. The preflight tools check a file against the standard print and archival profiles before it goes out.

Questions about this release
Is there a page limit on conversion?
No. The page and file count caps that the trial applies are not present in this build.
Does redaction really remove the text?
Yes, once you apply the marks. Marking alone does not remove anything, which is the step people miss.
Can I keep Reader installed as well?
It is not recommended. They fight over file associations and the preview plug-in.
Does anything upload to a server?
No. Conversion and recognition run locally in this build.
Comments
Removed Reader first like the notes said and the install was clean after that.
Form export to spreadsheet is the reason I needed Pro. Works exactly as it should.
Comments are read before they appear. If a build stops working, say so here and it gets rebuilt rather than quietly left up.
Scanned a 90 page contract and the recognition made it searchable in one pass. No watermark on the export.
