Overview
UniConverter is the tool for the jobs that sit below an editing suite and above a media player. Convert a folder of clips to something a device will play, squeeze a file under an upload size limit, trim the dead ends off a recording, burn a disc, record the screen, pull the audio out of a video. None of those individually justify opening a timeline editor, and doing them one at a time through separate free tools is how an afternoon disappears.
This build has the licensing applied, which removes the things the trial uses to make itself unusable: the watermark stamped across converted video, the third of the file length conversion cap, and the deliberately slowed conversion speed. Hardware acceleration is enabled on the graphics paths that support it, and batch processing has no item limit.
Conversion and compression
The format list covers the containers and codecs in normal use plus a long tail of device presets, which are useful mainly because they set a sensible resolution and bitrate rather than because the device needs something exotic. Batch conversion runs the whole queue with one settings pass, and hardware acceleration on a supported card takes a long queue from hours to minutes.
The compressor is the part people come back for. You give it a target size, it works out the bitrate, and it shows a preview of the result before committing so you can see what the quality cost actually is. That is a far more honest workflow than guessing a bitrate and re running the conversion three times.
Editing, recording and discs
The editing side is deliberately shallow: trim, crop, rotate, add a watermark or a subtitle track, adjust brightness and volume. It is not a timeline and it is not trying to be. What it is good for is fixing a clip before conversion rather than after, which saves a second pass.
Screen recording captures a region, a window or the whole display with system audio and microphone on separate tracks. Disc authoring builds a playable video disc with a menu from a set of clips, which remains the only way to get video onto a player that predates network streaming. Discs can also be ripped back to files.
The extra tools
A set of smaller utilities sits alongside the main functions and covers the odd jobs: merging several clips into one file without re encoding where the formats match, converting images between formats in bulk, generating an animated clip from a video segment, extracting subtitles, and fixing damaged media metadata that stops a file from seeking properly.
There is also a transfer function for moving converted files onto a connected phone or tablet directly, which avoids the usual round trip through a file manager, and a downloader for pulling media from a web address into the queue for conversion in the same pass.

Installing it
- Unpack the archive to a local drive.
- Suspend real time protection for the install.
- Run setup as administrator.
- Open the program and confirm hardware acceleration is enabled in preferences for your card.
- Convert one short clip and check the output has no watermark before starting a large batch.

Questions about this release
Is the watermark gone?
Yes, along with the length cap and the artificial speed limit the trial applies. Test with one short clip if you want to confirm before a batch.
Why is conversion still slow?
Check that hardware acceleration is actually enabled for your card in preferences. On the software path a long queue takes hours.
Can it merge clips without re encoding?
Yes, where the clips share a format and parameters. Mixed formats have to be re encoded.
Does it replace a video editor?
No. The editing here is trim, crop and rotate. Anything involving a timeline belongs in a proper editor.
Comments
Batch of 60 clips with acceleration on took about eight minutes. No watermark on any of them.
Used it to author a disc for a relative who still has a player. Menus worked, disc played.
Comments are read before they appear. If a build stops working, say so here and it gets rebuilt rather than quietly left up.
Compressed a 3 GB file under 200 MB for an upload limit. Preview showed the damage before I committed, which I liked.
