Windows 11 Pro with Office 2024 Professional Plus

Overview

This is a combined image: the 25H2 build of the Professional edition with the current office suite integrated into the installation rather than added afterwards. One pass of setup produces a machine that boots to a working desktop with the document, spreadsheet, presentation, mail and note applications already present and licensed. On a bench where machines are being rebuilt in sequence that removes a second install, a second reboot and a second licensing step from every one.

The hardware requirement check is bypassed, so the image installs on machines without the security module, without secure boot and on older processors that the standard installer refuses. Nothing else about the system is cut down. This is the full Professional edition with every component present, not a stripped build, and it takes updates normally afterwards.

What is in the image

The system side is the Professional edition at the 25H2 servicing level, with the servicing stack and the cumulative updates already integrated so the first update check after install is short rather than an hour. Every Professional feature is present: the group policy editor, the local security policy, the encryption support, the remote desktop host, the virtualisation platform and the domain join capability.

The office side is the full Professional Plus set: the word processor, the spreadsheet, the presentation application, the mail client, the database application, the note application and the publishing tool. It installs in the 64-bit form by default with the 32-bit path available for anyone with an add-in that requires it. Both sides are licensed at first boot with no key entry.

The requirement bypass and what it means

The installer normally checks for a security module, secure boot, a supported processor generation and a memory floor, and refuses on anything that fails. Those checks are removed from this image, so it installs on hardware that is perfectly capable of running the system and simply predates the requirement list. The machine runs normally afterwards, including monthly updates.

What the bypass does not do is add hardware that is not there. Features that genuinely require the security module, principally drive encryption tied to it and some of the virtualisation based security options, will not be available on a machine without one. Everything else, which is to say everything most people use, works exactly as it does on supported hardware.

Installing it

Write the image to a stick of at least sixteen gigabytes using a tool that handles large install files, since the payload exceeds what the older file system allows. Boot from it, choose the language, and the edition is selected automatically. There is no account requirement during setup: the local account path is available directly rather than needing a workaround at the network screen.

First boot completes the licensing for both the system and the suite, which takes a minute or two before the desktop appears. After that, run an update check. Because the cumulative updates are integrated it will usually find only the most recent month rather than a year of backlog. Drivers install from the standard channels as normal.

System requirements

Installing it

1. Write the image to a stick with a tool that supports install files above four gigabytes.
2. Boot from the stick and choose your language. The edition is selected for you.
3. Delete the existing partitions if this is a clean install, then continue.
4. At the account screen choose the local account option rather than signing in.
5. Let the first boot finish. Both the system and the suite licence themselves before the desktop appears.
