Overview
uTorrent became the default client because it was tiny and it did not get in the way. The program itself is still only a few megabytes, it starts instantly, and it handles a queue of large transfers on a modest machine without noticeable overhead. What made recent versions unpleasant was the advertising, the bundled offers and the constant prompting to upgrade, none of which are present here.
The Pro features are enabled: the integrated player for previewing while a transfer is still running, the built in file scanner, automatic conversion for playback on other devices, and priority bandwidth handling. It runs clean, with no panels, no offers and no nagging.
Transfers and queueing
The queue manages how many transfers run at once and how many seed afterwards, with per transfer priority and file level selection so a large set can be pulled in the order you actually want it. Individual files inside a set can be skipped entirely, which matters on collections where you need one item out of forty.
Bandwidth scheduling caps upload and download by time of day, so a machine on a shared connection can run at full speed overnight and stay out of the way during working hours. Per transfer limits are available as well.
The Pro features
The integrated player streams a media file while the transfer is still running, provided the pieces arrive in a usable order, which the client will prioritise if you ask it to. Conversion re encodes finished files for playback on phones, tablets and televisions without a separate program.
The file scanner checks completed transfers before they are opened. It is not a substitute for proper protection on the machine, but as a first pass on something arriving from an unknown source it is worth having on.
Setup worth doing
Set the download folder and a separate incomplete folder on first run, so partial files never sit in the same place as finished ones. Set the global upload limit to roughly eighty percent of your line's actual upload capacity, since leaving it uncapped will make everything else on the connection feel broken.
Enable the protocol encryption option. It does not hide anything from anyone determined, but it stops the more basic throttling that some connections apply to transfers by protocol shape.

Questions about this release
Are the advertising panels really gone?
Yes. The panels, the offer screens and the upgrade prompts are all removed in this build.
Do I need to configure my router?
It works without it, but forwarding the listening port improves connection counts considerably.
Why is everything else on my connection slow?
Almost always an uncapped upload limit. Set it to around eighty percent of your line's upload capacity.
Is the file scanner enough protection?
No. It is a first pass, not a replacement for proper protection on the machine.
Comments
Upload cap tip in the notes fixed my whole connection. Should be the default.
Scheduler runs it overnight and stops at seven. Set and forgotten.
Comments are read before they appear. If a build stops working, say so here and it gets rebuilt rather than quietly left up.
Clean interface again, no panels at all. Feels like the old version.
