Overview
This is the offline version, which is the only version worth having. It carries the entire driver archive inside the image rather than downloading anything, which means it works on a freshly installed machine with no network driver, no wireless, and nothing but a keyboard. That situation is exactly when a driver tool is needed and exactly when an online one is useless.
It reads the hardware ids of every device present, matches them against the packages in the archive, and installs everything in one pass. On a bench where machines get reinstalled regularly this turns an afternoon of hunting for a network controller into a fifteen minute unattended run from a single external drive.
The offline archive
The archive covers chipset, storage controller, network, wireless, audio, graphics, input, card reader, printer and a long tail of everything else, across a wide range of ages. Coverage of older hardware is genuinely better than any manufacturer support page, since vendors delete driver downloads for equipment they consider retired and this does not.
Because everything is in the image, the whole thing runs from a USB drive with no connection at all. Copy it once, and every machine you touch afterwards is a single run rather than a search. That is the entire reason people keep a copy of this on the shelf.
Running it properly
Expert mode is what you want, not the one click option. The one click will happily install additional software you did not ask for and update drivers that were working fine. Expert mode shows the full device list with what is missing and what is out of date, lets you deselect everything unrelated, and installs only what you tick.
Uncheck anything in the software tab entirely. Those entries are unrelated applications bundled to pay for the project, and none of them are drivers. Then install chipset and storage first, restart, and run it again for the rest. Doing it in that order avoids the situation where a storage driver installs after something that depended on it.
Where it fits and where it does not
It is at its best on a fresh install with unknown hardware, an old machine with no support page left, or a bench where the same job repeats constantly. In those cases nothing else is close, because nothing else works without a network.
It is not the right tool for keeping a working machine current. Graphics drivers should come from the card vendor, and a machine that runs correctly does not need every driver replaced with whatever version happens to be in the archive. Take the restore point it offers before running it either way, since a bulk driver install is the sort of operation where one bad package is easier to undo than to diagnose.

Installing it
- Copy the unpacked image to a USB drive if you are going to use it on more than one machine.
- Run the launcher as administrator on the target machine.
- Choose expert mode. Do not use the one click option.
- Uncheck everything in the software tab, then select chipset, storage and network drivers only.
- Install, restart, then run it again for audio, graphics and everything else remaining.

Does it need an internet connection?
No, and that is the point. The offline image carries every driver inside it, so it works on a machine with no network driver at all.
Should I use the one click option?
No. Use expert mode, uncheck the software tab entirely, and select only the drivers you actually need.
Will it install graphics drivers?
It can, but take those from the card vendor instead. Use this for chipset, storage, network, wireless and audio.
Is it safe on a working machine?
It is not the right tool for one. This is for fresh installs and unknown hardware. Take the restore point regardless.
